“Beer Speaks, People Mumble”

 

With 11 different seasonal ales and six different types of beers available in the market place all year long, Lagunitas has made a name for itself and crossed the lips of thousands upon thousands of individuals from California to Oregon, Texas to Georgia and many states in between. With their creative and giggle provoking labeling, it’s no wonder beer drinkers across the country are curious about the taste in the bottles.

 

Since its conception in West Marin, founder Tony McGee’s Lagunitas Brewing Company struggled as a small microbrewery in the early years. But with some hard working, creative individuals, some fancy marketing, some help from several great financial supporters and a lot of fun and perseverance, Lagunitas Brewing Company has become successful in its home in Petaluma since the 1990’s. The brewery continues to grow, intimidate, compete, and bring happiness wherever it is welcomed. Hmmm…..does this sound remotely familiar? Like describing the Norcal Velo Women’s Cycling Team?

 

Because of continued national success, Lagunitas Brewing Co. has grown beyond their expectations. In order to keep up with the supply and demand, the brewery has recently installed an incredibly high-tech, modern brew house. With massive stainless steel pots, Lagunitas consistently brews it’s highest quality crafted beers. In addition to hard work, they have ongoing tours of their fine brewery and bottling line-as quoted by John Foyston from Oregon: “The tour starts with a wonderfully generous beer tasting of some of its finest, including all of the seasonals. Before the tour starts, you are also poured a full 16oz glass of goodness.”  Lagunitas also loves having tasting parties at the brewery on Thursday nights. Though these parties are temporarily on hold, you can get on their email list if you go to their website and those fine folks will let you know when the next party will be! I personally love the Cappuccino Stout in the wintertime or is it the Brown Shugga, or Lucky 13 or their Pils….oh, I can’t decide! Perhaps a party should be attended by the team and “your favorite Lagunitas flavor” should be added to the team bio’s!

 

For over ten years, Lagunitas has been a solid supporter and sponsor of many non-profit sport teams and non-sporting events. In 2003-2004, Lagunitas sponsored Norcal’s coed mountain bike team. They continue to support Norcal and will be sponsoring Norcal Velo Women’s Cycling Team for a second year in a row.
