Christine Culver

Christine is our most righteous recruit. Some of Christines race results include (hold on to your hats):

1985: * 3rd Expert NORBA Nationals *

In 1986 Chris began racing professionally for Mantis Bicycles ("They actually called us Supers ! Ha HA!"): * 4th Whiskeytown Downhill * 7th NORBA Nationals * 1st Kamikaze Downhill Mammoth Cycling Classic * 3rd Cross Country Mammoth Cycling Classic *

1987 (Mantis Bicycles) : * 2nd Mammoth Cycling Classic Kamikaze Downhill * 1st Cross Country Big Bear Fall Classic * 1988 (Mantis Bicycles): * 1st Rockhopper South Downhill * 1st overall Angles Crest Stage Race * 5th Mammoth Worlds Downhill *

In 1989 Christine raced professionally for Salsa Cycles: * 1st NORBA Nationals Downhill Point Race #3 (Cedar, MI) * 1st NORBA Nationals Downhill Point Race #4 (Vernon NJ) * 2nd NORBA Nationals Downhill Point Race #5 (Crystal Mountain, WA) * Downhill National Champion NORBA Nationals Championship Finals (Big Bear, CA) *

And THEN she raced collegiately for UC Davis and came 3rd in the road race at Collegiate Nationals. She was also a member of the National Collegiate All American Cycling Team.

After graduating she returned to Sonoma County with her husband Rob, and from 1996-1998 raced mountain bikes again, downhill of course. She again raced for Salsa Cycles, until she crashed at a World Cup race in Big Bear and compressed vertebraes T7 and T9 in her back.

After dedicating so many years to cycling for sport, Christine has turned her attention toward cycling advocacy. She is the Executive Director of the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, a fledgling organization which has flourished under her leadership to include over 600 members. Says Christine, "I love my job working for the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, we are lucky to live in such an amazing part of the world!"
