Thursday Night Women's Clinics
Part of our mission is to encourage women of all ages and abilities to become better cyclists. We believe this can be accomplished by offering structured mentoring and a supportive environment. The women of NorCal Velo know how to support one another, and we want nothing more than to pass along our passion for the sport to other women in the community.

Our spring Thursday Night Women’s Clinics were a huge success, thanks to the many team members who donated their time and expertise. We had a great turnout each week, with up to 14 women participating in each session. Here are some reviews from our clinic participants:
“Thank you to all the NorCal Velo girls who shared their knowledge and time at the Thursday Night Women's Clinic. I learned so much in just a few days, from safety skills to ways to just feel more comfortable on my bike. We practiced single and double pacelines, and were given tips on preparing for successful hill climbing and even did some sprints! I had a great time, everyone was so nice, I felt very comfortable and welcome. I would definitely recommend this clinic to my friends and everyone.” - Twyla
“I learned some great tips about riding together in a group and drafting off others. I definitely have become more comfortable on the bike and was teaching my riding partner some of the tricks I learned. Thanks again and I would love to come to more clinics if offered.” - Sarah
“I thought you and your team mates were very good instructors--it's obvious you enjoy riding and that you wanted to share that with others.” - Deanna

“Learning can be FUN! As a totally nervous beginner, I was instantly blown away by the expertise, patience, and genuine passion of the team leaders. The clinic made riding much easier for me and more enjoyable all around! I recommend the clinic to anyone who likes to have fun on a bike, regardless of their skill level. Thanks NorCal girls.” -Connie
“Since I have only been riding my bike since this past Thanksgiving Holiday I think it is safe to say that I am novice. Despite that fact, however, I must say that I found the clinics truly valuable and enjoyable. Not only did I learn the correct way to play bumper bikes (well more like protect myself while on my bike), I started to gain a better comfort level riding in groups - two things that I am finding most valuable as I ride with different groups. All the NorCal Velo women were supportive and genuinely interested in helping us, and I can't wait until the next series of clinics!” -Kelli
