Penny did a great job of hanging in there-must have been the Moby she was pumping out of her Mini during our warm-up! For me, it was another day of chasing, but how can you bag a race when a life-size Clo-the-Cow is cheering you on?

Racing in your hometown, hanging out with team mates and watching the local talent dominate their fields. The Clo-terium was a winner. It is always interesting to have a pro in your field. Cindy Carroll racing in the 35+ mounted several attacks just for fun. It mixed the race up and kept it lively. The first 1/3 of the race was paced just at my edge, but by the end I was still feeling good and was well placed for the final sprint. I finished 12th so it may be time to work on that part!

Claires Race Report

I was supposed to be on restriction from racing this weekend, but after watching Penny and Elizabeth race, I couldnt help myself! They looked fabulous out there in their NorCal colors. Its so awesome to have a criterium in downtown Santa Rosa (thank you Clover-Stornetta!). I had been in a major funk because Id been off the bike for too long, and completing this race gave me my confidence back. I felt really comfortable in the group, and I even went to the front for a few seconds to "help" chase down Laura Charamedas lone break. I made sure that I did it right near the start/finish so that Pete Sweeney would have to say my name over the loudspeaker, and I spent two laps recovering from the effort!
