What a difference a day makes - sun and a little bit of mud and something like 54 women lined up. They turned the course around and added lots of turns making it very power oriented. There was no time to rest because every time the thing even went slightly down hill they added an uphill turn. It was definitely my kind of course.

At the start I began working my way through riders and by the third lap out of five I was with a local in the top 15 and we were gaining ground on a couple girls going backwards. We all came together and then Christine V who had been crashed came through us. I knew if I could stay with her for a while I would be able to shed the whole group, so I grabbed her wheel we worked together for the 2nd to last lap giving me a comfortable gap over the others. Christine shed me on a running section (no surprise there) and coming through the pits just before the last lap I heard her position at 9th. Holy crap I was in 10th!

I kept the power on and got top 10 at Gloucester again. I was stoked. One remarkable thing about these East Coast races is the incredible domination by the West Coast. With the exception of the winner (who as one of the top roadies in the world doesn�t count in the competition) all of the women in the top 10 were from the west coast of the US or Canada. Pretty cool. It is especially notable because these 2 races are known as the East Coast Worlds.
