Ride for Ross!

How great it was to race on one of my training routes! It sure feels tough at race pace!!! The challenge of course for this race was to save enough for the brutal ending. The women started the race on the flat road in a group, as soon as we hit the hill on Pine Flat Rd. a lead group (including Tanya) quickly broke away. I tried to narrow the gap between myself, Denise and Sarah. After that Im not sure what happened, the climb took every ounce of focus and strength I had. I do remember Shannon and I sharing a moment of gut busting near the top. What a hill!!! I was so proud of the team.

Okay, I got planted ~ halfway up Pine not-Flat, rattled the cowbell and yelled encouragements. When the riders came down many thanked me and that was nice.

Wow, this was a great event! Our climb up the hill was nothing compared to the climb (and the progress!!) that Ross has made! It was great to see him at the post-race celebration. I am really glad to have had the opportunity to participate in this race with 6 NorCal teammates and many other teammates cheering everyone up the hill! What a day!
