It was a very cool gusty morning when we (my husband and I) arrived for the Berkeley Team Time Trial-I was very thankful that I brought lots of layers to warm up in. We arrived early and managed to get a more detailed course description from one of the race organizers. Most importantly; where are the hills, and how long are they. We received a great description including barns, horses and a bridge. I cant even tell you what I rode past that day! I certainly didnt notice any horses!
We went into the race thinking that the downhills would be our weakness-I was concerned that Barry would drop me. As it turned out I discovered the joy of descending up to 44mph in someones draft. I didnt get what I wanted from my legs on the hills-could have been the virus that overwhelmed my immune system by that afternoon. I think we rode well as a team for our first team time trial. Overall it was a great experience, I would definitely like to do that race again next year.
