Bay Area Super Prestige Race #3

Well I missed watching Penny and Leslie race the Cs but we arrived early and ready to go again this week to Daly City -Maclearan Park (sp?) which is kind of in the hood but a decent park. Chris did well finally, no mechanical probs finishing 9th in the A men.

I let a total stranger watch Simone so I could pre-ride a lap while Chris was finishing, she was a grandma type so I felt safe. The course scared the bejezus out of me. It was hard. I wish I had my full suspension era for it, not kidding. Starting with a steep run-up followed by windy bumpy- well it was all bumpy terrain then a steep short climb I could not manage to get my 12 year old boy body over without dismounting. Then there was a fairly long steep climb followed by a cool log dismount spot then sketchy downhill riding until the pavement section. I started off in 1st, feeling pretty good and managed to get the preem by leading to the top of the run-up at lap 2- won some new shoes baby!! Then I got passed by a tough ass chick who apparently is going pro next year on the road. She creamed me on the paved section. I also fell a couple times blazing through some tape-moronic move.

I managed to hang on to second bumping me to the overall series leader position- whohoooo! All I need to do is get points in the next 2 I think... to hang on which would be purty sweet but still tough as with cross you never know what can happen. Prunedale next week..sarah p.
