I feel like with each race report I have something dramatic to say, well this day is no exception. There were 15-20 or so girls in my race and I got out too slow, forced to walk up the first hill where there was a backlog of girls. I ran around a bunch of riders and continued on course. The course was quite technical- one short run up followed by a steep somewhat gnarly descent lots of uneven bumpy terrain. We raced all categories together so I was not sure how I stood but I wound up 3rd place with 1st and 2nd in sight. I was bummed at the way I got out but happy I made the podium. Well, I would have been on the podium if Simone my daughter did not endo over Marleys bike (fellow teammate Tanya Daviss babe) right before my name was announced. After 3 1/2 hours in Marin General ER and 8 1/2 stitches to mend her busted chin, Simone, Chris, and I trecked back home to Sebastopol. Next week we are off to the first Bay Area Super Prestige race in Brisbane.
