Apple Pie Criterium

A goal for my first criterium of 2004 was to test my sprinting. I had not incorporated any sprinting into my riding aside from the Tuesday before the race. That prior Tuesday I did a few 20 second sprints and it didn�t feel very good! My other goal was to keep my head up and walk away unscathed from what was sure to be a big pack of ambitious women. I was planning to ride both the 3-4 and the 1-2-3 race. The 3-4 race was about what I expected. I won the first 2 primes and came 6th overall. There were several crashes. I started the 1-2-3 race and felt pretty good until I bridged a gap. I did a little work but knew I had had it for the day and packed it in. All said, it was a good day because the race was close to home and I knew the course. The End
