Norland Construction Corportate Criterium

It was really cold, much colder than expected, and as the W 3/4 race got underway, I still felt like I wasn’t quite warmed up yet.  But NorCal Velo had a good showing with four of us racing, and I think each of us accomplished something that morning.  Rachel completed her first criterium, go Rachel!  Lindsay and Cathy had really awesome finishes, placing in the money with 2^nd and 5^th respectively.  And I took home a prime. 

I decided to stick around and do the W 1/2/3 race a few hours later.  Slightly warmer, but also quite a bit windier.  About ¼ of the way into the race, I thought I was settling in.  But as the pace picked up, the combination of the effort from the earlier race, having ridden hard the day before, and of course my general lack of fitness at this early point in season — well that proved to be my undoing.  In a word, I was… dropped.  The officials were nice enough not to pull me and allowed me to complete the race (while about three others dropped out and did not finish, some consolation perhaps?), so at least I got a workout.  Better luck next time.
