Sea Otter Circuit Race

The saga continues with Lil' Lindsay S. She raced the Cat 3 women's circuit race with some other pretty bad-ass women. The 60 minute race which looped 8 times around the track was a ball buster for sure.  So much so that Lindsay midway through the race did that puke in your mouth thing we all unfortunately deal with as racers. Once the nerves went by, she positioned herself in the front of the lead pack. I watched her from the cross-country course and she looked super strong, Norcal Velo colors flying proud. Then came the final lap:

"We went up the final hill with the group, I was on the third wheel back on the backside of the course, on the final turn, a gap happened, I hesitated, and lost the front of the pack. Then another girl got me. Damn I learned from this that I need to go for it next time as I have the ability to hang with these girls but I am working on the confidence.  I finished strong placing 8th out the 15 riders, about 15 seconds off first.  It was a great warmup for today's 47 mile hilly road race which I will tell you all about in about 8 hours."
